Service Description

This is NOT the Ballet version! It’s a fresh take on an old classic, made new again in this wonderful heart-warming holiday musical. Join us for our holiday production of The Nutcracker. Script & lyrics by Mary Kay Beall Music, arranged by Ruth Artman, orchestrated by Bob Lowden, and adapted from "The Nutcracker Suite" by Peter I. Tchaikovsky and "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King" by E.T. Hoffman. In this unique theatre program, our cast provides its own musical accompaniment, from the pit or from the stage. Student instrumental musicians with an active interest in theatre are also encouraged to audition. Throughout the year we offer theatrical productions with music– whether standard musicals or works that a include music scenes, feature songs, or accommodate incidental music. Auditions and classes are held at the Reed-Turner Center. Actors and/or show musicians must attend: Auditions– Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Class Time Tech Rehearsals: TBD Special evening performance– Friday, December 13, 2019 at 7:30 P.M. Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 12:00 P.M. Long Grove Players Beginner Theatre Troupe, ages 6-9 This troupe will join the Intermediate troupe to present our holiday production. Beginner Troupe members develop skills in acting, dancing, singing, and music for the theater stage. During this class, students will rehearse the holiday musical. All students will be cast.
